ODA specialist, project coordinator Asia/Pacific, report writer. Prior to joining SPM in 2000, Ms Short worked for the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1990 – 2000 as a policy analyst. During that time, Ms Short was involved in managing New Zealand’s political and economic relationships with Japan, and then the EU. Ms Short was posted to the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok from 1992 – 95 and managed the NZODA aid programme for Thailand and Laos as part of her work programme. This involved working in field programmes with developing communities in North-Eastern Thailand and a number of villages near Vientiane in Laos.  From 1997 – 2000, Ms Short worked in NZODA in Wellington and was responsible for relations with the UN, the multilateral organisations and the development banks. Ms Short also developed the new multilateral environment programme prior to leaving NZODA. Ms Short holds a First Class Honours Degree in International Relations and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Peace and Development Studies.
