Mr. Faulkner was a Member of the Canadian Federal Parliament from 1965 to 1979. Subsequently held several senior positions with Alcan Aluminum Ltd. As Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris (1989-1990), he organized industry's participation in the UN Conference on Sustainable Development in Bergen, Norway, in 1990. Mr. Faulkner was Executive Director of the Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD) responsible for providing a business / industry perspective to the Rio 1992 Conference (1990-1994). Mr. Faulkner developed Sustainable Project Management as an initiative of the BCSD. SPM was subsequently spun off as an independent entity in January 1995.
